After an extremely successful 2012 edition, The Jubilant Bhartia Foundation, in collaboration with the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship is inviting applications for the 8th edition of the India Social Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2013.
The Social Entrepreneur of the Year award celebrates leading social entrepreneurs and their ventures that design and implement innovative, practical and sustainable solutions to address poverty and the lack of basic services and resources in low-income markets. Innovations within the sectors of health, education, job creation, water, clean energy and access to information and technology are of special interest.
The deadline for sending in applications is 31 May, 2013.
Once applications close at the end of May, an intensive selection process including expert reviews and site visits will take place following which, three to four leading social entrepreneurs will be selected as finalists for the India Social Entrepreneur of the Year Award. The winner(s) will be announced in November 2013 during a high level award celebration in India.
The winner(s) of the “Social Entrepreneur of the Year” India 2013 Award will join the Schwab Foundation’s global community of social entrepreneurs for the year 2014, and will participate in the relevant annual and regional meetings of the World Economic Forum, which provide unprecedented opportunities to engage with global decision makers from the public, corporate, media, academic, and civil society sectors.
